住宿场景大家都知道是雅思考试中一个很常见的situation。今天咱们就这accommodation 好好来探讨一下。

先看accommodation是何许人也，A同学其实不过 is the place where you stay。能看懂不？就是你待，你住的地方，都可以说是A同学。

先看第一类，单间

Bedsit ['bedsit] n. 卧室兼起居室

A single room in which you live and sleep;

the room is both a bedroom and a sitting room (living room)

The cooking area (if there is one) is usually shared

There is usually a wash basin in the room, but the bathroom may be shared

Services such as cleaning and changing of sheets are often provided

能看懂不？一般是一幢公寓楼的单间。你有起居室和卧室，但是呢，厨房和卫生间有时要和他人共享。有时也叫“studio flat”

第二类：学校类

If the room is in a building belonging to a university, it is usually called a 'hall of residence' 据此可知，学校的宿舍楼一般叫做“hall of residence”

第三类，合租

Flatshare / shared house

A "flatshare" is when you share a flat with one or more other people. 

第四类B&B

即传说中的 ("bed and breakfast"), A room, usually part of someone's home, which the owners are renting out to make some money. Breakfast is provided, but no evening meal. The bathroom is probably shared with other guests often arranged in co-operation with a school. Breakfast and evening meals are provided, usually eating together with the family. 

一般是一栋大房子的某一个客房出租。所以别的设施都要和别人共享了，不过有bonus，提供早餐。所以叫B&B

第五类：社会类，Hostels 

常见的有：YMCA, YWCA 。叫青年旅舍或者叫驴窝。一般是只提供某一个床位的，不过比家简陋，比酒店温馨，而且一般全世界连锁。非常实惠。

见过这五类以后呢，咱们分别看看常见的一些名词。你的房东呢，叫

“the landlord or landlady”（is the owner of your accommodation.）要支付一个月或半个月的押金，那个东西叫“deposit”（You usually pay a deposit when you start renting）而且呢，押金会退的。normally this money is returned to you when you leave unless you break or damage things or fail to pay the rent. 房东租给你房子之前会给你一个很详细的物品全录。这个东西一般叫“inventory”（is a list of what is in the accommodation.）
